Events: proceedings usually start with a briefing at 10.30am, with the aim of
getting out on the water by 11 o'clock. 2 races are usually held before lunch,
and 2 after, with the prize-giving at about 4.30, enabling people to get away
by about 5pm. An Event Entry Fee is charged - usually £10 for 1 day, £15
for two-day events. Some locations offer catering facilities, and where possible
details are given. Otherwise bring your own sandwiches! Social
Sailing: these are much less formal, with much depending on wind, weather, tides
and personal inclination. There is usually no fee as such, but often parking or
launch charges, depending on the location. A meal out in the evening is often
organised. Contact the member in charge for more detail. The
information on venues from the links below includes a general description and
instructions on how to find them. Where possible there is a link to the clubs'
own websites where there is often much more detailed information. |
