Reservoir is set in an attractive valley in the North of Northamptonshire just
to the east of the A5199 near the villages of Guilsborough, Creaton, and Hollowell
just a few miles from the A14 and M1. Access is near Hollowell village. Post code
is NN6 8RL for those with Google Map or a satnav.
When full the water area is 120 acres. The foreshore is clean and sandy - no angle bending rocks. Between the clubhouse and the water's edge there is a large grassed area used for barbecues, picnics and sunbathing. The parking and camping areas, near to the water, have been much enlarged in the last 2 years and new changing rooms were opened in March 2008.
There is a dry lounge which offers spectators a vantage point from
which to watch the sailing and perhaps enjoy a drink from the licensed bar. A
galley provides hot drinks and confectionery, and food is also available. Seavets
are welcome to arrive the night before (please let Mike
Playle know) and to stay over to Sunday when they can sail as Mike's guests.
It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to camp for the night.
