Mersea Island - Sunday 3rd - Wednesday 7th July 2022
Mersea Island a social sailing venue with great potential. Come and join us, for a day or a few days.
We plan to complete the island rounding during the week, if conditions permit.
Getting there: Take the A12 to Colchester then join the B1025 to Mersea Island. Cross the Strood Channel via "The Causeway" and then take the left fork towards East Mersea. Take the first turning to the right and follow the brown Tourist Board signs to Seaview Holiday Park.
Note: Crossing the causeway onto the island can be a problem, as the road is covered for an hour or so during some high tides.
Location: Mersea Island is about 30 miles northeast of the M25 Jnt 28 /A12 intersection, and just south of Colchester in Essex.
Meeting Place: Beach in front of Two Tides Bar or Mersea Windsurfers Pavilion, Victoria Esplanade, West Mersea, Essex CO5 8BZ
For day visitors a free public car park is across the road from the pavilion and a larger paying car park without height restrictions further west.
Accommodation: West Mersea Holiday Park, Seaview Avenue, West Mersea, Essex CO5 8DA. It is advisable to book in good time.
