Poole Cruise.
10 friend's by chance happened to be on the beach at Poole and decided to have a socially distanced sail round the 6 islands in the harbour.
Those sailing were John Ellis, Kerry Hastings, Andy Lacy, Owen Dimond, Brian Tilbury, Simon Barker, Dave Rabbetts, Dave Gilchrist and Joe Coulson. I wasn't able to sail due to a slight mishap on my bike the day before, but watched from the shore.

David Pashley, 1933 - 2020
I am sad to report that David Pashley died yesterday, 5th July 2020. He had been in a care home for 18 months and had a fall there, and was taken to hospital where he contracted pneumonia.
David had been a member of Seavets since 1987, so was one of our most senior members. He was a stalwart of the racing fleet and a keen competitor, not to be trifled with when rounding a mark!
David will be sadly missed and we send our condolences to April and her family.

David Balcombe, 1937 - 2020
It is with much regret that I have to report the death of a dear friend David Balcombe.
I first met David at one of the Poole weeks arranged by Ron Warren. Ron introduced me to David and also Colin Stirret, now also sadly gone. We became great friends and Ron, David and myself became a bit of a threesome, often holidaying and sailing together.
David's Seavet Club legacy is that he initiated the Weymouth week which still continues today - he arranged hotels/ dinner venues and parking spots for a decade - so a long lasting contribution to the Seavet Social scene.
David did National Service in the RAF, then worked in a technical role for the London Metropolitan Police and latterly for a security company.
David lived in Horley with his wife Margaret and they were due to celebrate 60 years of marriage at the end of this year. He was also a member at Weir Wood Sailing Club where he sailed a Miracle dinghy. He often talked to us about what he did when he got his little Miracle out.
