Carsington
31st August 2019

Carsington Water is close to the southern edge of the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, approx 12 miles NW of Derby, & 6 miles NE of Ashbourne.

Carsington Sailing Club will be our host. (Not the Watersports & Bike Hire Centre adjacent to the Visitors Centre)

With 700 acres of open water set in the beautiful Peak District the venue boasts stunning views coupled with fantastic facilities in the stone-built clubhouse.

We will be sailing from the Club on Saturday (Racing) & Sunday (Social Sailing), but overnight camping on site is not permitted due to club lease.

Accommodation will be at a premium around this location & time of year. We recommend that you book early

There are several campsites to choose from:

In recent years The Pudding Room has been popular with Seavets.

The Knockerdown Inn has showers, toilets etc, but no electric hook up, and is attached to the pub where we hope to have a meal together on Saturday, and is close to the sailing club.

Uppertown Farm is also very close to the sailing club, has no electric hook ups or toilets, and is just £5.50 per pitch per night. No booking required.

The Caravan Club has a site at the southern end of Carsington Water, open to members and non-members.No tents.

Directions: Carsington Water is halfway between Matlock and Ashbourne. From the B5035, head south east at Knockerdown. The sailing club is a quarter of a mile on the left and before you reach the dam.
