First Farmoor event - 9 April

We had an excellent turnout of 12 sailors for the first event of our 2026 series at Farmoor. The wind was forecast to increase through the day from an average 12mph to 17 mph with much stronger gusts coming through which it duly did. The winds were on the whole steady with few significant shits and from the WSW direction which works well at Farmoor. Joe was there early to se the course, a figure of 8 across the middle of the lake. After lunch the number of starters and finishers dropped as the wind strengthened, so that by race four there were only 4 starters and 3 finishers, with significant white crests appearing across the lake and several shortboarders down for the afternoon.

Nick Kidd arrived with his new Phantom and one all the races except the first which he missed the start of, but Tony Goodwin and Kerry Hastings did their best to give him some competition.

Finalised results will be published soon but the overall top positions were

  1. Nick Kidd

  2. Tony Goodwin

  3. Kerry Hastings

  4. Ady Rippington

  5. Simon Barker

Thanks to Joe for setting a good course and organising the day, and the wind gods for providing plenty of entertaining conditions.
