Too much wind for racing 4 April

The forecast for the day held promise with winds between 14 and 29 mph, but on arrival it was blowing at consistently 20mph plus. Undaunted we planned a course and took to the water. It became obvious very quickly that getting any racing done would be impractical, so most returned to shore. Nick Kidd, Simon Barker and Martin Brooks showed us what a load of wimps we were although Simon's kit did not last long. After lunch the wind moderated back to the original forecast enabling others to get out for a sail. I had made the wrong decision and packed up, but those who stayed on had a great sail. Well done chaps!
