Wild and windy day at Farmoor 4 July24

There was a good turnout of Seavets at yesterday's Farmoor event. The forecast of 15 to 30 mph was looking accurate as we arrived, with white caps appearing in the gusts. After some deliberations in the cafe we chose suitable sails and the first race started at 1115. Richard on a 6.5m Demon sailed a brilliant steady race and came in first, with Ady taking race 2. Undaunted we started the first race after lunch but with the wind tuned up another notch and the gusts being long and sustained we decided it was too difficult to race so called it a day after 3 races. By this time the water was getting busy with Farmoor shortboarder and foilers who were coming down for the windy conditions.

Overall Richard continued to sail well and very deservedly won the bottle of wine for overall first position with Kerry second and Nick Kidd third.

Thanks to Joe for organising and with support from Andy.

First Farmoor event - 9 April

We had an excellent turnout of 12 sailors for the first event of our 2026 series at Farmoor. The wind was forecast to increase through the day from an average 12mph to 17 mph with much stronger gusts
