Racing Plans for 2024

Racing in 2024 will follow broadly the pattern for this year ie. monthly racing on Thursdays at Oxford S.C. Farmoor, running from April to October, one more than in 2023. These will usually be on the first Thursday of the month, but may be moved to accommodate cruising events, which are largely dictated by the tides, or to avoid an event being close to an LWA Saturday event. Occasionally a bad weather forecast may necessitate a postponement which will be communicated to the racing fleet on the WhatsApp Seavets Racing group no later than the preceding Tuesday.

As in 2023, the series will also include three LWA Saturday events: Burghfield, Queen Mary and Oxford S.C. Farmoor, making a total of 10 events.

In addition, it is proposed that those who can only sail at weekends are encouraged to participate in the 7.5m class for the whole of the LWA Summer Series, and their results from that will be extracted and constitute a separate Seavets series.

Finally, the minimum number of competitors participating in any event for that event to count in the series is reduced from 4 to 3. The Standard Sailing Instructions will be amended accordingly and published on the website.
