Wind at last at Farmoor

It was a warm and windy day for our September racing at Farmoor. The wind was a shifty NE veering to E at times with gusts well over 20kts but mostly a steady 13-14kts with few lulls. Joe had managed to negotiate the SW quadrant of the reservoir which gave the best sailing with a long reaches. Nick Kidd was able to join us and showed us a clean pair of heels in each race. We also welcomed Farmoor sailor Bram Hauer who joined us to get a taste of longboard racing. The gate starts worked well although the wind made it difficult to hear the blasts on the whistle at times. Anyway a great day out on the water and a good work out after several light wind race days. Suffice it to say I am a little stiff this morning!
